My first corticosteroid cream: DERMOVATE
Back in the days, 7,8 years ago when my psoriasis was located only on the scalp on the back of my head, my dermatologist prescribed me an ointment called Dermovate.
This is considered to be among the strongest ointments used in treating psoriasis vulgaris.
This is the romanian version of the products that contain clobetasol propionate.
The ointment is based on it, and there are many products across the world that contain this substance and can be found under many names, like: Clobex, Clob-x (Colombia), Clovate, Cormax, Pentasol (Colombia), Cosvate (India), Temovate (US), Olux, Tenovate, Dermatovate, Butavate, Movate, Novate, and Powercort.
Read more on wikipedia about clobetasol propionate.
The cream is very effective but it has a big issue: it is meant for an use of maximum two weeks!
Using it more can cause side effects.
It was my case also. I didn’t consider the advice of my dermatologist and my psoriasis appeared also on elbows and later on knees and on the back.
In next posts i will post photos with my psoriasis areas.
